Kari Perez, head of communications for Xbox, explained that Microsoft has maintained its console prices for an extended period and has now decided to align them with the competitive conditions prevailing in each market. The United States, Japan, Chile, Brazil, and Colombia will be exempted from these changes, while official communication from Microsoft regarding the price adjustments in other countries is still pending. In addition to the subscription adjustments, Microsoft will also be increasing the price of its Xbox Series X console in various countries, starting in August.

However, existing customers who have opted for annual subscriptions will continue paying the current rate until their subscription renewal. New members subscribing to Xbox Game Pass will experience the revised prices from July 6. It is worth noting that there will be no changes to the pricing of PC Game Pass. Similarly, the price for Game Pass for Console, currently available at Rs 349, will be adjusted to Rs 379 from the following month. The current monthly subscription fee for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in India stands at Rs 499, while the new price will be Rs 549. The price increase will be applicable worldwide, including India. Microsoft has announced that it will be implementing a price adjustment for its Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions, with the changes set to take effect next month.
